For structural elucidation of zeolites and other ceramic materials ²⁹Si and ²⁷Al solid state NMR gives detailed information about the coordination state and the immediate surrounding of each of these nuclei. Diffusion NMR and imaging studies can provide information about cavities and the behaviour of liquids inside the ceramic materials.
